You switch on the light. Next, you turn on the television. After that you boil some water. All of those activities require electricity. You can do those things thanks to Nikola Tesla. Against the odds, he researched, developed and promoted an innovation in the supply of electricity.

Born July 10, 1856, Nikola Tesla was an astounding talented man. He changed the world with his innovations and ideas.

Tesla was a talented inventor, electrical and mechanical engineer, physicist and futurist. He explored magnetism and wireless transmission of energy. His ‘teleautomaton’ boat was the first remote-control device ever built.

The Tesla Coil has long been a source of amazement for young and old.

Still today, many museums around the world include displays presenting examples of the Tesla Coil.

Rubbing shoulders with some of ‘the best’

The young Nikola Tesla was hired by Thomas Edison to work at Edison Machine Works. Starting out working on simple electrical engineering, Tesla was soon solving more in-depth and difficult problems.

Tesla also counted Mark Twain as one of his close friends. Mark Twain stated that Tesla’s induction motor was “one of the most valuable patents since the telephone”.
