Can you imagine as a teenager confronting a royal leader, let alone leading soldiers into battle?

  • On May 16, 1920, Joan of Arc was canonized a Saint. France celebrates this fearless girl with a festival in May each year and May 30th is her Feast Day.

Joan of Arc was born on January 6 around the year 1412. Only a teenager, when she led French armies into battle during the Hundred Years War, Joan of Arc (or Jeanne d’Arc), became a folk heroine of France and a Roman Catholic Saint.  Born a peasant girl with little education, ‘The Maid of Orleans’, persuaded the King and army leaders that there was a way to beat the English army, all based on a vision from God. She will long be cherished, as one of the most revered females in history.
