What about the lesser known aviation pioneers?

July 24 is Amelia Earhart’s birthday. This week we have a class challenge for your students about AVIATION.

July 24 - Wright Brothers

  1. Can they name 5 famous aviators?
  2. What about these names? Richard Pearse, Katherine Stinson, Helene Dutrieu, Bram van der Stok.
  3. Choose one of the lesser known aviators and ask students to research their story.
  4. What inspired them?
  5. What obstacles did they overcome to be able to achieve what they did?
  6. Where did the word ‘Aviation’ come from?
